Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Dale Steenbergen says it looks like local businesses are doing well so far this holiday season.

Steenbergen says he doesn't have any hard numbers yet--but adds he's hearing positive reports. He says local merchants, like much of the country, say Black Friday business didn't live up to expectations based on past years.

But Steenbergen says local businesses he has spoken with say business on other days so far during the Christmas season has more than made up for lackluster Black Friday sales.

Steenbergen said a couple of weeks ago that most businesses were expecting to see increased sales compared to this time last year, in large part because of improvement in the local economy.
