After 34 years of service, Cheyenne City Clerk Carol Intlekofer has announced she will retire the end of the year.

Intlekofer began her career with the city in 1984 as the Deputy City Clerk and was promoted to City Clerk in 1993. Prior to that, she was the Clerk of County Court for Carbon County.

"It has been a privilege to serve this community as its City Clerk for over 25 years," said Intlekofer. "I will forever remember all the very special people I have worked with and the many unique experiences the position has provided me."

"Carol's knowledge of city ordinances and resolutions as well as her dedication to myself, former mayors and countless council members is unmatched in any community," said Mayor Marian Orr.

"We all knew this day would come – a much deserved retirement – however I'm not letting her completely off the hook," Orr added. "There are a few records modernization projects I have asked her to see us through on a part-time contract basis."

A search is underway for Intlekofer's replacement.
