Wyoming Republican Representative Cynthia Lummis is predicting a "real donnybrook" of a budget fight between Republicans and Democrats in congress in a couple of months when a proposal to raise the federal debt ceiling comes up for consideration. Lummis says her party will be calling for entitlement reform and comprehensive tax reform. Lummis says Democrats on the other hand will be calling for increased taxes, adding house Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) has already been calling for tax increases in a number of televised interviews this past weekend. Lummis also says congress "kicked the can down the road"--or refused to make a real decision--with the recent agreement to avert a federal budget "fiscal cliff" of tax increases and spending cuts. But she says the sequestration cuts that would have been imposed without the agreement will have to be dealt with when the debt ceiling proposal comes up.
