Man Arrested While Trying To Rob Safe

A 34 year old man was arrested in the act of robbing a local pizza store, according to the Cheyenne Police Department.

Officers say they were called to the Godfathers Pizza at 5719 Yellowstone Road shortly after 9 a.m. Saturday. Officer Dan Long says a witness on the scene reported seeing a blue colored Saturn passenger car before police arrived.

Long says officers on the scene created a perimeter and soon found an east entrance door to the pizza shop was unlocked and a window had been broken out. Long says police entered the building and found Dallas Gonzales trying to break into a business safe.

Gonzales also admitted to owning the blue Saturn that was found on the scene. Police say Gonzales wasn't able to break into the safe, but add the break-in did damage the property.
