Manslaughter charges against a Cheyenne man stemming from the death of a 6-month-old baby last Summer will be dropped, according to Laramie County District Attorney Jeremiah Sandburg.

The involuntary manslaughter charges against 30-year-old Tyler Child were filed in connection with the death of his girlfrIend's infant son on June 30, 2015 while Child was babysitting the boy and his sister.

Child called 911 to report the baby wasn't breathing, and emergency responders weren't able to revive the infant. Child was originally charged with second degree murder in the case, but that was reduced to a charge of manslaughter in August of 2015.

A three-person jury chosen for a coroner's inquest earlier this month in Cheyenne ruled the cause of death to be undetermined.

The announcement that the manslaughter charge against Child will be dropped was made  Friday afternoon.
