Cheyenne Mayor Rick Kaysen says the city is doing its best to try to deal with potholes on city streets.

The mayor notes the problem tends to get worse this time of year, when the cycle of warming and freezing weather tends to create more of the holes. The mayor says city crews are out every day filling the holes with a temporary "cold mix" fill.

Kaysen says once the asphalt plants start operating again in April a more permanent "hot mix" will be available and crews will go back to the potholes that are being temporarily repaired now as well as new potholes that form in the spring.

Kaysen asked motorists to report potholes by going to the city website,  clicking on the link that says ''report a concern" and scrolling down to the street and alley category.
