This year's Toys for Tots drive in Cheyenne is off to a record start and it wouldn't be possible without the hard work of Wendy Henderson, the local coordinator for this year's campaign.

This is Wendy's first year in charge of Toys for Tots, but she's no stranger to the organization.  She's volunteered her time to help collect toys for needy kids for the past four years. Like many of our local volunteers, Wendy is a veteran of the United States Navy.

She credits the local Marine Corps reserve, along with her fellow Navy vets and former members of the Coast Guard and Air Force along with civilians for keeping the proud tradition alive.  All told, the local Toys for Tots campaign has over 160 volunteers.  In fact, Wendy claims they actually had more people volunteering this year than they could actually use.  As she put it, that's a good problem to have.

We want to recognize each and every one of those volunteers for their service to the community.  Over 700 local families will benefit from their hard work this holiday season.
