The work of more than two dozen Wyoming artists will be up for bids when the Wyoming Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association hosts its first ever "Memories in the Making" art auction on October 16.

The auction, which will feature over 70 pieces of art, will be held at 7:00 p.m. at the Asher Wyoming Art Center at 500 West 15th Street in Cheyenne.

A $10 ticket will allow guests to view and bid on the art and, more importantly, help fight the sixth leading cause of death in America.

"This year alone, Alzheimer's will kill more people in the United States than breast cancer and prostate cancer combined," said Janet Lewis, Executive Director of the Wyoming Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association. "Right now there is no treatment, cure or prevention for Alzheimer's disease and we need to fund research."

Wyoming artists who have pieces in the auction include Charlene Baktamarian, Elizabeth Beliaj, Christine Blooding, Jerry Glass, RoseMarie London, Wanda Sanders Miller, Win Ratz, Ed Sherline and Sandy Warvi.  Additionally, some of the pieces in the auction were created by local artists who have Alzheimer’s or another dementia.
