Update: WYDOT spokesman Dave Kingham says the road reopened at about  2:35 p.m.

The road was closed this morning when maintenance personnel and Highway Patrol responded to a multiple vehicle pile-up that closed I-80 eastbound for several hours. WYDOT spokesman Ross Doman says preliminary reports indicate that a tractor trailer rig either spun out or voluntarily stopped in the driver's side lane near milepost 305 west of Laramie. The roadway was slick and fog had settled in at that point. After the initial truck stopped the vehicles began piling into each other.  As of 11 am, the line of vehicles waiting for the wrecks to clear was estimated at four miles long with no reports of injuries. The eastbound lane was closed at Sinclair.
