The first round from his new gun ended up four feet from killing my wife.

My wife & I heard the shot while watching Bronco football, but suspected it was a firecracker.

I went out back to check it out and soon, my neighbor came out with a flashlight and was poking around under his deck looking around for something. When I asked what the noise was, he was non responsive. When I asked again more forcefully, he said "I don't know." He was lying.

We found several small holes in a straight line and several walls later, the final hole and the bullet that made them. These police officers did the forensics and lined up the path, from the house behind ours.

The bullet entered our house in the master bedroom, about 2 feet from where my head would be if I had gone to bed. Worse than that, had the shot gone 4 feet to the west, it would have hit my wife who was on our couch watching the game.

The police were on it and found the neighbor was cleaning his new gun when it went off. What an idiot! He’s in the military and doesn't know basic gun safety and protocol? The 1st round from his new gun ended up four feet from killing my wife. He didn't even come over to check on us. I think there was more to it and will see what needs to be done.

Looks like things will be awkward over the back fence from now on.
