New CRMC Cancer Center To Open January 27

A new 40,000 square foot cancer center at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center will officially begin taking patients on January 27.

Features of the new facility will include a new state of the art linear accelerator  and a CT scanner for treatment planning as well as an ambulatory infusion center with 23 treatment chairs and two private rooms. Dr, Jeff Carlton, Chair of Radiation Oncology at CRMC says the new center is a ''huge step up'' for local cancer patients, offering the latest technology  in cancer treatment.

He says it's the first time CRMC has offered all of it's cancer treatment options in one location. A public tour of the two floor, $30 million facility is scheduled for Thursday from 5 until 7 pm, according to CRMC spokeswoman Kathy Baker.
