Maybe you’ve heard of Annie & Amy. They are fifth generation Wyoming Natives. Have you heard their song to honor the 150th anniversary of Cheyenne? If not, then this should be pretty special.

The song will debut live at Depot Plaza Tuesday Aug. 8, at 7:45 p.m and at the Botanical Barden Gala Saturday Aug. 12.

If you don’t know the Annie & Amy story, it’s pretty good for a pair of twin Cowgirls. First of all, the woman who gave birth to these beauties is a past Miss Frontier, Ann Dinneen- Smith.

After graduating from Stanford University, Annie & Amy moved to Los Angeles and Nashville and were discovered singing on a Nashville television show. Eventually they signed on Warner Bros. Records & MCA Music in the early 2000s.

The twins toured six European countries and Russia and performed on USO Tours to Cuba, Puerto Rico & Alaska. They’ve shared the stage with Faith Hill, Garth Brooks, Trisha Yearwood and more names we know.

Do you remember any of the numerous times Annie & Amy have been on television? That includes 60 Minutes, and an HBO Special, “Wyoming Where I Belong.” Their newest song is specifically for Cheyenne and its 150th birthday.

"Let me tell you, even though we’ve written hundreds of songs with some of the best songwriters in Nashville, the toughest song to write is one about your hometown."

You might imagine that would be some pressure - especially when your hometown is Cheyenne, Wyoming. They got Todd Dreamer and Ty Warner, accomplished local singer/songwriters, to make it more of a "community effort."

Would you tell them not to worry? They did us very proud, just like on this one.
