A 61 year-old Newcastle woman was killed in a single vehicle accident at 8 a.m  Wednesday ,according to a spokesman for the Wyoming Highway Patrol.

Sgt. Steve Townsend says Colleen Pillon was reported by witnesses to be weaving in and out of her lane of travel as she was westbound on U.S. Highway 16 about 10 miles west of Upton in Weston County. Townsend says the vehicle went off the right side of the roadway and hit a road approach. It then became airborne, landing on it's nose.

The 2012 Chrysler Van then flipped end over end 1 1/2 times before coming to rest on it's roof. Pillon was ejected from her seat during into the rear of the vehicle even though she was wearing a seat belt.

She was declared dead at the scene by emergency responders.
