Can you read the roman numeral XLVIII?

That would be 48, the number of this year’s Super Bowl featuring the Seattle Seahawks and the Denver Broncos. Today, the NFL announced that the 2016 Super Bowl in Santa Clara, California will be known as Super Bowl 50 rather than Super Bowl L.

The league didn’t provide any reason for the change in today’s story. They do add that in 2017, the roman numerals will return for Super Bowl LI.

What do you think? Should 2016′s big game be called Super Bowl L or should the NFL dump the roman numerals all together?
