A shooting at an Ohio high school has killed one student with four hospitalized and had local residents on lock-down for a short period on Monday morning. 17-year-old Daniel Parmentor died after getting shot in the Chardon High School cafeteria.

The chaos reportedly started around 7:30 a.m. at the 1,100-student Chardon High School, about 30 miles outside Cleveland. Local news footage showed parents whisking children away from buildings as ambulances waited outside, and a spokeswoman for Cleveland’s MetroHealth System said a medical helicopter was dispatched to the scene.

School superintendent Joseph Bergant II said the culprit is in custody, but he doesn’t yet know the extent of the injuries. Civil Deputy Erin Knife of the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office reports that  four students had been shot.
