Have you driven past the old Okie Blanchard Stadium on Pershing Boulevard lately?

The visitor stands of the old Okie Blanchard Stadium have been knocked down to make room for the new stadium being built next to it. Soon the home stands with the press box will also be removed. It was shocking to see a pile of rubble where only months earlier I had stood in those stands watching the 2014 East High School Class graduate. We are all moving on.

The former East stadium is being taken down to make room for the impressive new Okie Blanchard Stadium which is almost done. East High will host it's football games on the new artificial turf complete with their logo in the middle.

East High was ranked #1 in the preseason coaches and media poll and open their season on the road in Rock Springs on August 29 and return for six home games in a row at their new stadium starting on Friday, September 5, with the #2 ranked Natrona Mustangs. Tune in every Friday night to AM650 KGAB at 10 p.m. for the Friday Night Scoreboard show to keep up on all the Wyoming High School Sports action.

What events do you remember watching over the years at Okie Blanchard Stadium?
