The year was 1897, just 7 years after Wyoming became a state, and Cheyenne had celebrated their very first Cheyenne Frontier Days. Much has changed since then.  The center piece of Cheyenne Frontier Days is the rodeo. It was September 23, 1897 when the town first celebrated the event.

Much has changed since the days of "Buffalo" Vernon, who was a championship "bulldogger" at the rodeo as well as Chuck Wagon races, which have since gone away.

We recently just celebrated the 118th Daddy of 'em All and in two years Cheyenne is scheduled to see the 120th.
