A single car rollover early Sunday near Basin has claimed the life of a 44 year old Otto man.

According to the Wyoming Highway Patrol Jason Darby was eastbound On Wyoming Highway 30 eight miles east of Basin a little after 12 a.m. on October 12.

His 2003 Chevy pickup went off the right side of the paved portion of the highway, and Darby pulled the vehicle back onto the roadway.

He then crossed the center line, over corrected, and went into a clockwise broadside slide. Investigators say the vehicle then went off the roadway, hitting a guardrail. The truck then tripped and went airborne, rolling one and a half times before coming to rest on it's top.

Darby, who was not seat belted in, was partially ejected, sustaining fatal injuries. The crash marks the 123rd highway fatality in the state this  year, according to the patrol.
