Arch Coal Company is asking for nominations of teachers who are making a difference for their Teacher Achievement Award program.

An independent panel of past award winners will review the nominees will look over the applications for the award and  chose ten teachers who will be honored in the Spring of 2017.

Each award recipient is given a cash prize of $3, 500, Nomination forms are available in schools, libraries and Taco John's restaurants across Wyoming. Applications are also available online.

The deadline for nominating a teacher is Jan. 9, 2017.

But because teachers who are nominated have to fill out a long and detailed application, event organizers say it's better to make a nomination sooner rather than later.

The Arch Coal Teacher Achievement Award is the longest-running privately sponsored teacher recognition program in Wyoming.
