Oxford English Dictionary Adds “Muffin Top,” “Five-Second Rule” [VIDEO]
Look up “five-second rule” and you’ll find the following: “Allows for the eating of a delicious morsel that has fallen to the floor, provided that it is retrieved within the specified period of time.”
As for “muffin top,” the dictionary now provides two definitions, one of which references an old episode of ‘Seinfeld.’ “The top portion of a muffin, or sometimes a muffin cooked in a special shallow tin so that it consists exclusively of this top part, without the soggy bottom whose relative undesirability once inspired an episode of 1990s ‘Seinfeld,’” it reads.
The second definition refers to “a protuberance of flesh above the waistband of a tight pair of trousers (“spare tire” or “love handle”), which may sometimes be attributed to an excessive appreciation for muffin tops in the literal sense.”
And if that wasn’t enough, the dictionary has also added “couch surfing” and the abbreviation “LOL” (Laughing Out Loud), among others.
