Graduations should be moving, emotional or even just good ol' fun, but they should never be the reason you wind up in jail.

Four people who cheered during the graduation for Senatobia High School, in Senatobia, Miss., are now facing charges for disturbing the peace.

Officials had asked people in attendance not to scream and requested they hold their applause until the end of the ceremony.

It wasn't until a week or two after the graduation that the real drama unfolded. Four people received papers in the mail that disturbing the peace charges had been filed against them and that warrants for their arrests had been issued.

Ursula Miller is one of the people cited:

I can understand they can escort me out of the graduation, but to say they going to put me in jail for it. What else are they allowed to do?"

School superintendent Jay Foster wants to send a message that graduation should be treated with respect and he is willing to do what he can to maintain order.

Henry Walker, another person cited, certainly doesn't agree with that. “It’s crazy. The fact that I might have to bond out of jail, pay court costs, or a $500 fine for expressing my love, it’s ridiculous, man. It’s ridiculous."

What do you think? Should the people have legal action taken against them or is this a waste of time, energy and money?
