Did you know an Irish rock band pays tribute to Martin Luther King, Jr. on one of their hits?

The song 'Pride (In The Name of Love)' from U2's 1984 album 'The Unforgettable Fire' was written about Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. I'll feature a live performance of the song as tonight's KING Concert Cut.

U2 released their tribute to Martin Luther King, Jr as the lead single from their 1984 album 'The Unforgettable Fire.' The song became the band's first top-40 hit in the U.S. peaking at #33 on the Billboard chart.

For my KING Concert Cut on Equality Day here in Wyoming, I'll be playing 'Pride (In The Name Of Love)' from U2's 1988 release 'Rattle And Hum.'

The performance was recorded in Denver at McNichol's Sports Arena in November of 1987, three songs from that night ended up making it on to the album. The song appeared on the album and the DVD release of 'Rattle And Hum,' which hit #1 on the U.S. Billboard 200 album chart.

Tune in about 7:50 tonight for my tribute to the late Civil Rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. as we celebrate his legacy.
