Three Charlotte, North Carolina men accused of torturing and murdering Cheyenne businessman Dave Doyle will not face the death penalty.

Doyle, who was the co-owner of Tyrrell-Doyle Auto Center, was found tied-up, burned and stabbed to death inside his Charlotte home on July 19.

Peter Gould, Jr., Tardra Bouknight and Daniel Blakeney have been charged with first-degree murder, kidnapping and assault.  A murder conviction would result in a mandatory life sentence without parole.

Gould's attorney says his client, who was a meth addict who had done yard work for Doyle, heard that Doyle had been stockpiling gold at his home in anticipation of an economic collapse and was the mastermind behind a plan to steal Doyle's stash.
