Radiohead has given us perhaps the most intriguing unboxing video ever for the just-released special vinyl edition of A Moon Shaped Pool. After all, these things are usually pretty run of the mill, right?

Check out Radiohead's offbeat clip above, complete with narration from Chieftan Mews – who's been described as a "cryptic Twitter personality." The whole thing is soundtracked by "Ful Stop" from the new album, a 11-song effort that arrived last summer.

This new special edition includes two vinyl records, two compact discs and a 32-page book of artwork, all in a case-bound package. Highlights include two bonus tracks, and a piece of actual original master tape from a Radiohead session. "The tape degrades over time and becomes unplayable," the band said in an earlier statement. "We thought rather than it ending up as landfill, we would cut it up and make it useful as a part of the special edition. A new life for some obsolete technology."

As for what might be on the tape? "Each loop contains about three-fourths of a second of audio – which could be from any era in the band's recording past going back to Kid A," they say. "You may have silence; you may have colored leader tape; you may have a chorus. ... It's a crapshoot. We have copies. Don't worry.

The special edition's case also has an unconventional inspiration – "albums for 78rpm shellac records in the library of La Fabrique, France," Radiohead added, in the statement.
