You’ve seen it out in front of the Cheyenne Airport, the fountain on 8th Avenue and Warren. It’s the mid-century fountain that is in need of some tender loving care. A close look reveals that some tiles are falling off and some of the relief work needs fixing.

Luckily, the Cheyenne Historic Preservation Board is taking on its restoration. The board is presenting their 4th annual "Tour the Legends Historic Homes Tour” with proceeds going to help repair the icon piece.

Their “Tour The Legends Historic Home Tour” will a great time seeing some of Cheyenne's beautiful historic homes featuring modern design and architecture from the early 1930’s to early 1970’s. The tour is from 10 – 4 on Saturday, September 17.

Tickets cost $20 at The Corner Stop gas station at Snyder and Pershing, at the Historic Governors' Mansion at 300 E. 21st Street or at the Blue Cross / Blue Shield parking lot or any of the homes on the tour.

“Some features of these homes and buildings include one designed by a student of noted 20th century architect Frank Lloyd Wright and a home that is described as an excellent example of making a mid-mod home accessible while maintaining its historic characteristics.” According to kgwn.
