Disaster can happen at the worst of times.

A tornado, the pitch black middle of the night, pouring rain, freezing cold, power knocked out, people injured and a fire threatens to spread. When tragedy strikes, first responders and The Red Cross are usually the first on scene to set things right.

Do you have what it takes to help others during the worst times of their lives?

What a lot of people fail to realize is how good it feels to give. When you help others, your rewards are non-monetary but you become rich in other ways. The satisfaction of helping others get back on their feet. The people you work with are good people. The situations are challenging and tough and can break your heart.

If you would like to volunteer, meet up with The Wyoming  Red Cross 11 a.m. Saturday morning at The Laramie County Public Library 2200 Pioneer Ave. in Cheyenne. They will be talking with prospective volunteers and assisting in the process.

See if the rewards you get aren’t bigger than the sacrifice you put out.
