RECAP: The Flamin’ Hot Cheetos Burrito Eating Contest!

As part of Taco John's 1-year anniversary of their Dell Range location, they threw one heck of a shindig on Tuesday, June 10--complete with birthday cake, taco giveaways, and a Flamin' Hot Cheetos Burrito Eating Contest. DJ Teri Landreth and Digital Gal Reese Kutzler were on hand to film the magnificent-ness.

The idea was this: 16 willing contestants showed up between 5:00 and 5:15 p.m. Handed over their name, phone and address (so we could send them some sweet Cheetos and Taco John's gear for participating) and then sat patiently.

5 burritos were placed in front of them on trays. They couldn't touch or unwrap them beforehand or they'd be disqualified (one guy thought he was being sneaky and tried! We made sure to give him the EXTRA hot burritos).

Then the timer started. They had 5 minutes to eat as many burritos as possible.

Turns out Michael Joelson, long-time fan and oft-winner of Taco John's contests, claimed another grand prize. Michael ate 6 burritos in 5 minutes. Blurgghhhh. His secret? "I took a Tagament before coming," he told us.

For winning, Michael received a $50 giftcard to Taco John's, a free crispy beef taco everyday for a year, and a sweet Chester Cheetah shirt!
