The remodeled section of Cheyenne Aquatic Center officially opens Wednesday, November 12th, to the public, after much needed upgrading.

This newly remodeled area of the Aquatic Center at 931 Martin Esquibel Drive in Lions Park, features a new family and assisted changing rooms, remodeled locker rooms, remodeled entrance and new staff offices.  The Aquatic Center will soon feature a new climbing wall, which is scheduled to be installed later in November, and the expansion section is expected to open in spring of 2015, which will feature a play structure, new slides lazy river, and 3 warm water lap lanes.

The Aquatics Department offers swimming and other water recreational activities to the city of Cheyenne, and they also offer Red Cross Certified Life Guard Training.  The Municipal Pool, which is open year round, was built in Lions Park in 1976, and went through a series of renovations in 1992, and the spray park was later constructed in 2006.

The newly reconstructed section of the Aquatic Center was primarily funded by tax payers.  According to KGWN TV 5, “The total cost of the Aquatic Center project is $6.6 million.  A majority of the funding - $5 million - comes from the Specific Purpose Tax Ballot approved by voters in 2012.”

The AquaticsCenteroffers several punch card packages to access the facility.  Click HERE for details on fees and daily hours of operation.
