Reuters corespondent Kelly Carr reports from Cheyenne on the home of Wyoming Corporate Services, a firm that exists to establish, manage and sell Wyoming shell companies.

Wyoming Corporate Services is located in a brown brick residence in the Avenues neighborhood of Cheyenne, and shares its address with over 2,000 other businesses registered there, Carr reports.

Carr says Wyoming, Delaware and Nevada are havens for shell companies and a “shelf” companies, or shells that are aged for buyers to make them look more established and reputable. The top of the WCS website cautions prospective shell owners: “Don’t gamble on Nevada!”

The Wyoming Secretary of State’s website lists three business entities operating as Wyoming Corporate Services, two of which are active and in good standing, filed in 2003 and 2006. The third listing, dating back to 1992, was administratively dissolved for tax purposes, and is listed as “delinquent.”
