Throughout his career, Rick Rosas performed with Joe Walsh, Pegi Young, Jerry Lee Lewis and Ron Wood -- but he's best known for being Neil Young's longtime bassist, beginning his trek with the iconic rocker with 1988's 'This Note's for You.' Today (Nov. 7), we learned the sad news of his passing at the age of 65.

In addition to his time with Young over the last two decades, Rosas toured with Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young in 2006, and just last summer, he filled in with Crazy Horse after bassist Billy Talbot suffered a stroke.

As if he wasn’t busy enough, it was quite common for him to be called upon for session work, and was the bassist for the Waddy Wachtel Band since the start of the 21st century.

Rosas was married twice and, besides his immense musical talents, was an educated chef.
