Road repair season has returned to Cheyenne.

With the warm Summer days nearing their end, crews have hit the streets to try and finish road work before cold weather moves in.

East Carlson Street between Weaver Road and Powderhouse Road will be closed starting at 7 a.m. on Tuesday, August 7 through Wednesday, August 8 for asphalt milling and overlay, weather permitting.

Crews will return after paving to raise manholes and water valves. Detours will be posted for motorists and there will be access to all businesses along East Carlson Street.

Also, City of Cheyenne Steet and Alley crews will be overlaying asphalt on West 30th Street between Snyder Avenue and Talbot Court starting on Tuesday, August 7, weather permitting.

On Thursday, August 9, crews will close East 5th Street between Van Lennen Avenue and Seymour Avenue for street paving.

These streets will be closed from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.

Money for these projects comes from the 1 percent sales and use tax, also known as the Fifth-Penny Sales Tax.
