The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame welcomed the class of 2011 at induction ceremonies in New York City on Monday.

Alice Cooper was introduced by Rob Zombie and the band accepted the award along with a snake from their stage act.

Paul Simon inducted fellow singer-songwriter Neil Diamond who  had flown in from Australia to attend the ceremony.

Tom Waits accepted his induction trophy from Neil Young, Darlene Love was honored by Bette Midler and Dr. John was introduced by John Legend. Leon Russell was also honored at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel Monday with the Musical Excellence Award, previously called the Sideman category. Russell was presented the award by Elton John who collaborated with him on The Union album last year.

The ceremony will be broadcast on Fuse TV on Sunday, March 20th according to Rolling Stone.
