Republican candidate for Wyoming Treasurer Ron Redo says he decided to run because the other candidates for the office weren't talking about the changes that need to be made.

In a Tuesday interview with Glenn Woods on KGAB-AM radio in Cheyenne, Redo said state senators Leland Christenson and Curt Meier are both "fine people."

But he pointed to yearly audits of the department as something that needs to be implemented. He says another problem is that capital gains "are being considered income and are being put on the table to be spent."

Redo, who is currently a Cheyenne resident, says his background includes several years in California as an auditor for the Worker's Compensation Division.

He said that included six years under then-Governor Ronald Reagan.
