Many are celebrating the relief at the pump but some are suffering from the drop in oil prices. Wyoming has men and women that are being laid off and there will be a ripple effect from that and will touch most of us. On the other hand, there are other business that will start to thrive now that people can afford to travel and companies can ship goods and services for more reasonable rates. There are tradeoffs.

I love having money that would have gone into my gas tank available for other things like food and mortgage. I also feel for our family, friends and neighbors who are being hit by layoffs.

The world's largest oil services company, Schlumberger, has announced 9,000 layoffs among its 123,000 employees even as 2014 saw them with revenues of $48.6 billion. Most of the layoffs are projected to be in North America. Employing more than 80,000 people, Halliburton is acquiring Baker Hughes who will lay off some 7,000 employees.

Closer to home, you still need to spend your money wisely. According to GasBuddy.com, the cheapest and most expensive gas in Cheyenne is at Sam’s Club on Dell Range and Sapp Bros at I-80 Service Road and US-30. Both have regular at $1.65 a gallon for regular. In Casper, Sam’s Club has regular for $1.92. Most are selling regular for $1.95.
