The Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service has issued the following weather statement for Thursday, July 26:

"Severe thunderstorms expected to return today across southeast Wyoming and Nebraska Panhandle. A Marginal Risk area covers a large area identified in dark green. A better chance for severe thunderstorms highlighted in yellow on the graphic for the southern Nebraska Panhandle and southeast Wyoming east of Interstate 25. Storms expected to become severe after 3PM today and could continue into this evening. Large hail to ping pong ball size, downburst winds to 60 mph and heavy rain leading to flash flooding are all possible this afternoon and early evening. Stay alert through the afternoon and early evening as storms develop and conditions change. Storms will shift out of the area into northeast Colorado by around 10 pm."
