A 67-year-old grandmother and retired teacher from Sheridan will be the first person to purchase a Wyoming lottery ticket when sales start at noon on Sunday. Mary Ogg was chosen from roughly 27,000 entrants in a drawing on Saturday.

As the winner, Ogg will also receive a 2014 Jeep Wrangler and free Mega Millions tickets for a year. Seven other regional winners also won $1,000 and a year's worth of Mega Millions tickets. Some nearby winners include Marion Rohrer of Casper and Jin Hun Min of Wheatland.

The contest winners were announced at noon on Monday in the Wyoming Lottery office in Cheyenne.

The Wyoming Lottery officially gets underway will sales starting on Sunday, and the first drawing scheduled for Wednesday, August 27.
