Laramie County Sheriff Danny Glick says people need to make sure they have the full story of violent incidents that are recorded on youtube videos.

The sheriff says whether the video portrays violence by police officers or anyone else, it's important to remember that a short clip can be used to make someone look bad without telling the whole story.

He also wants people to know that any allegations of violence by his deputies are always investigated by an outside agency to get an unbiased report on exactly what happened.

And finally Glick says it's important to remember there is nothing wrong with peaceful protests. He says of such protests "that's good. We have that right. We should do that--if something is wrong, let's talk about it".

But he says violent protests are another matter entirely and violence should never be used to protest any situation.
