The Laramie County Sherif'f's Department will be at Town and Country Pharmacy at 514 South Greeley Highway from 10am until 2pm Saturday taking back unwanted and unused prescription drugs, according to Sheriff's Department spokesman Gerry Luce. He says the Cheyenne event is being held in conjunction with national Prescription Drug Take Back day events across the country. Luce says the idea behind the take back is an effort to get prescription drugs away from those who would abuse them or steal and sell them, and do it in an environmentally safe manner. Luce says prescription drug abuse is the fastest growing form of drug abuse both locally and across the country. Luce says some items will not be accepted at the take back day, including illegal drugs, sharps and several other hazardous or illegal materials.
