Sunday July 20, 2014 is the day. The 2014 Excursion Train from Cheyenne to Denver.

This is your chance to relive passenger train service, the way it use to be. The Sherman Hill Railroad Club is sponsoring the 2014 Excursion train from Cheyenne to Denver. The train will leave Cheyenne at 9:40a from the depot and return from Denver at 5:00p. Tickets prices are as follows: Dome seat $185, table seat $100, coach seat $75 and bus fare $35. Amtrak passenger service stopped in Cheyenne between San Francisco and Chicago decades ago when the Amtrak route over the Union Pacific was diverted to Denver from Salt Lake City. Cheyenne was the hub of numerous great passenger trains when from the 1800's through the 1990's. you get a chance to ride the rails just like you use to July 20th on the excursion train.
