The game of football could change the way we know how the game is played, that is if the National Football League Commissioner has anything to say about it!

Roger Goodell, commissioner for the NFL said in a recent interview that the league is considering getting rid of what is called the “PAT” kick, or, as we know it, the extra point kick after a team makes a touchdown.  Reason?  Because it’s not exciting!  That from Goodell who said that usually the extra point kicks are successful, hardly any misses.  In fact, in the past 10 years, the success rates of those extra point kicks have been better than 99%.  It’s also a rarity that anyone from the opposing team actually blocks those extra point kicks.  Goodell feels that the entire game should be exciting, and since the extra point kicks usually aren’t all that challenging, they’re thinking of getting rid of it altogether.

Do you think it’s a good idea for the NFL to get rid of the extra point kick and if so, what do you think they should replace it with?
