Six University of Wyoming swimmers will compete at the 2012 U.S. Olympic Trials in Omaha, Neb., beginning Monday, June 25 and continuing to the following Monday, July 2. Leading the UW contingent to the trials are Brandon Fischer, who will compete in three events, and Kelsey Conci, who will compete in two events.

Fischer, who recently completed his UW career and will swim in his second Olympic trials, will swim in the 100 and 200-meter breaststroke as well as the 200 individual medley. Conci, who also completed her UW career in 2012, will swim the 100 backstroke and 50 freestyle.

Wyoming will also have four other returning swimmers compete at the trials. Junior Morgan Hartigan will swim the women’s 100 breaststroke after qualifying at the 2011 U.S. Senior Regionals.  Senior Trevor LeValley is UW’s most recent qualifier to the trails in the 400 IM after picking up the cut time at 2012 Mutual of Omaha Swimvitational.  Junior Jayce Calhoon will compete in the 200 backstroke after qualifying at the Mountain West Long Course time trial meet. Sophomore Jordan Turner will swim the 200 IM after qualifying at the 2011 Junior Nationals.

To advance to the U.S. Olympic Swim team and compete in the 2012 Olympic Games the competitors must make the top two of their respective event.
