Safehouse will host the 6th annual Robin Munis Memorial Benefit Concert on Friday, August 9th at the Cheyenne Depot Plaza. "Avenue" will perform from 8-10 p.m. in honor of Robin's memory following "Shaving Peggy" during the regular Friday night Concerts on the Plaza.

Munis, a Cheyenne singer, was shot and killed by her estranged husband through the window of Old Chicago Restaurant in 2007. She was performing with "Ty and the Twisters" and was known for her passion of music.

Carla Thurin, Executive Director of Safehouse, said Munis' tragic death reminds us all that domestic violence affects more than just the abused. She added we often think domestic violence is something that happens behind closed doors and it does but it truly does affect all of us in some form or another.

This will also be the 6th year that Avenue has performed as part of the benefit. Bandleader Chris Hoover says he had known Munis as a friend and performer for many years prior to her death. The concert is free but donations will be accepted and all proceeds benefit benefit Safehouse.
