Under the Obama administration in 2016, the smoking ban was passed.  As of July 31st, 2018 the smoking ban will go into effect nationwide.

The U.S. Housing and Urban Development will not allow cigarettes, cigars, and pipes in houses or common areas, also you will have to be 25 feet or more away from public housing grounds.  They will still allow e-cigarettes, snuff, and chewing tobacco with a few restrictions.  With the new law taking effect, after three warnings about smoking, you will be evicted for not complying.

Reported by the Center of Disease Control and Prevention, in 2014 an estimated $153 million will be saved in repairs and health costs.  $16 million just in fire damages alone.

Affordablehousingonline.com reports, Cheyenne has 21 low-income public housing buildings, which is 1,299 affordable housing apartments.
