Some Things To Do This Weekend
Starting at 10 this morning, a ceremony to honor veterans and 1st responders at the site of the traveling memorial now in Lions Park. Personally, I am looking forward to seeing the Vietnam Memorial Wall. The impact of this memorial and the thought of the loss of 50,000 Americans hits me right in the feels.
Other weekend activities include Fridays on the Plaza tonight with Thumpin’ from 5:30 - 8.
The Denim & Diamonds fundraiser starts with cocktails at 5:30 tonight at Cheyenne Regional Airport to benefit the battle against premature births.
At 6, The Relay For Life benefit for The American Cancer Society kicks off at South High School.
Slaughter plays The Outlaw Saloon on South Greeley Highway tonight.
You should know the Sloans Lake beach and boat house is closed so no paddle boats. Now that the renovated aquatic center is open, you can swim there.
In Lions Park on Saturday, its the 32nd annual Superday, with lots of activities for the family (I like the car show the most). Look For KINGfm there.
If you’re headed out camping, realize Jackson County and others are rated high fire danger. You don’t want to make Smokey The Bear feel bad.
"Ted 2" opens today. Just like the first movie, this one follows John, played by Mark Wahlberg, and Ted, his teddy bear voiced by Seth MacFarlane. Ted wants to adopt a kid, but the law says he's property, so he needs help from lawyers to be declared a person.
Ted 2 is playing at Capitol City Digital Cinemas and the Carmike Frontier 9, but so is Max, a dog with heart. , and Jurassic World, King of the movies for the last two weekends.
