The Enterprise has gone where no space shuttle has gone before, it landed this week on an aircraft carrier in New York.

The original orbiter is now on display at the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum floating aboard the retired Navy vessel.

If your travels take you to the 'Big Apple,' don't miss your chance to see this piece of history. Space shuttle Enterprise never made it into orbit, it was used for flight and landing tests on Earth.

Enterprise was going to be named Constitution until a letter writing campaign by 'Star Trek' fans convinced NASA to name the first space shuttle after Captain Kirk's ship from the TV show.
