Monday was the first day of classes at St. Mary’s Catholic school in Cheyenne, and principal Janet Materi says enrollment appears to be up by one student compared to last year. Materi says as that on the first day of school 179 students were enrolled, adding late enrollments over the next few days could increase that number. St Mary’s offers kindergarten through 8th grade classes. Laramie County School District 1 officially starts classes on Tuesday, August 28, and Superintendent Mark Stock says preliminary figures indicate district enrollment is likely to increase by about 500 students.
