U2 ‘Achtung Baby’ is This Weekend’s ‘Album Side’ on Your Sunday Brunch

Do you own a copy of U2's "Achtung Baby"?

The Irish band is celebrating the 20th anniversary of the release of their seventh studio album in November of 1991. On Halloween, "Achtung Baby" will be reissued in five different formats and a documentary about the making of the record called "From The Sky Down" premiered at the 2011 Toronto International Film Festival and was shown earlier this month on television.

The album won a Grammy Award in 1993 for Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal. (That category name is as long as some of U2's song titles)

Recording sessions for "Achtung Baby" began at Berlin's Hansa Studios just before Germany's reunification in 1990. Most of the recordings were completed in the band's hometown of Dublin in 1991.

Hear Heart’s Debut Album on Your Sunday Brunch

Are you going to the Heart and Def Leppard concert at the Comfort Dental Amphitheater?

To help you get in the mood for the Monday, August 29, show at the former Fiddler's Green in Denver, we are featuring Heart's "Dreamboat Annie" as our Album Side Sunday.

The last weekend of each month, we play an album side starting at 8 a.m. on Your Sunday Brunch.

The Mushroom Records Label first released the record in Canada in 1975. Due to the album's success, the label started a U.S. division near Seattle, the band's hometown, and released the album on Valentine's Day of 1976. Heart had moved from Washington state to Canada in the early 1970's.

‘Frampton Comes Alive!’ on Your Sunday Brunch this weekend

It's the last weekend of July and that means we're featuring an entire album side on Your Sunday Brunch.

Guitarist Peter Frampton will play at the Hudson Gardens and Event Center on August 21 in Littleton, Colorado so thought we'd help you get ready for the show.

This weekend our Album Side Sunday will be the first four tracks from "Frampton Comes Alive!." After it's release in 1976, it sold 6 million copies, making it the biggest selling live album at the time. It's been 35 years now and it's still listed as the 4th biggest live album ever.
