We'll hear from a couple future Rock and Roll Hall of Fame bands, a guitarist celebrating a birthday and some bands playing this week in our area. There's rock news to tell you about, including the death of a prolific producer and engineer and even a song request for a singer out of Belfast, Ireland.

Our temperatures may be cold right now, but the concert season is heating up.

Among the shows you can catch this week, Gooding, the Los Angeles based band out of Wichita, Kansas, returns to The Midtown Tavern for a free show on Saturday, April 13, starting at 8 p.m. We'll be talking with Gooding on Friday, April 12, after 4 p.m. from Boulder where he is on the panel for the Conference on World Affairs.

KING Concert Calendar Features Southern Fryed at The Midtown Tavern Friday

Want to hear some great guitar riffs? There's a lot of live entertainment to take in around our area this weekend.

The Midtown Tavern, also known as Anderson's Other Corner at 1303 East Pershing Boulevard, welcome Southern Fryed at 8 on Friday night, March 29, and there's no cover charge.

The local band will be stopping by the KING studio before heading to the show. Southern Fryed is made up of Russ Brown, Andy Woods, Bill Baily and Jeff Gapter. For tonight's show, Chris Hoover will fill in for Andy on bass guitar.
