Legendary bass player, Donald 'Duck' Dunn, died in his sleep on Sunday, May 13, while on tour in Tokyo, Japan, he was 70.
Dunn formed The Royal Spades as a teenager, they later became The Mar-Keys. When fellow band member Steve Cropper left the band, the 'Duck' followed and they both became members of the Stax Record label's backup band, Booker T. & the MG's.

The composer who wrote the opening theme to that TV series and many others, Joel Goldsmith, has died at 54 in Hidden Hills, California after a long battle with cancer.
He wrote the musical score to more than 300 episodes of 'Stargate SG-1,' 'Stargate Atlantis' and 'Stargate Universe.'
