Do you like to climb the rocks at Vedauwoo? Have you ever danced on them?
This weekend, students from the University of Wyoming perform the sixth annual Vedauwoo Vertical Dance at Box Canyon. Performances will be at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
Along with dancers on the various levels of the rocks, the performances includes live music and storytelling by Paul Taylor out of Australia. Vertical Dance combines modern dance with rappelling that allows unique free-form aerial movements.
This year's performance is titled "Vertical Dance at Vedauwoo: Rainbow Serpent and the Red Desert." Since 1998 the event has been concluding the Snowy Range Summer Theatre and Dance Festival.
Tickets cost seven dollars and patrons are encouraged to buy tickets in advance as space is limited. Buy them online at www.uwyo.edu/finearts, by calling (307) 766-6666 or at the Fine Arts Box Office in Laramie.
